SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department has ordered the transfer and posting of 35 Range Officers Grade-II, In-charge Range Officers and In-charge Block Officers with immediate effect, in a major administrative reshuffle across forest, social forestry, wildlife and related divisions.
The transfers have been ordered under Forest Order No. 69 of 2026, dated August 20, issued by Sarvesh Rai, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF, JK, with the approval of the Administrative Department.
Among the key postings, Shafiq Ahmad Handoo, Range Officer Grade-II, has been posted as Range Officer, Sonwar, Seed Development Division, Srinagar. Sham Lal Khajuria has been posted as Instructor at the Forest Guard Training School, Doomi, while Yash Pal Sharma has been posted as Range Officer, Basholi Range, Basholi Forest Division.
Mohammad Altaf Dar has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Ajas Range, Bandipora Forest Division. Suraj Prakash has been posted as Range Officer, Kandi Range, Kamraj Forest Division, while Dr Syed Wasim Bashir has been posted as Range Officer, Lamberi Range, Nowshera Forest Division.
Tariq Ahmad Mir has been posted as Range Officer, Chiralla Range, Bhaderwah Forest Division, while Aijaz Hussain Mir has been posted as Range Officer, Directorate of Social Forestry, Kashmir. Sajad Majid has been posted as Range Officer, SF Range, Ganderbal, Social Forestry Division, Srinagar.
Bilal Ahmad Masoodi has been posted as Range Officer, Control Room, Pir Panjal Forest Division, Budgam, while Sajid Mehboob has been posted as Range Officer, SF Range, Anantnag, Social Forestry Division, Anantnag.
Dr Imtiyaz Ali Khan has been posted as Technical Officer to the Regional Director, Social Forestry, Kashmir. Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat has been posted as Range Officer, SF Range Awantipora-1, Social Forestry Division, Pulwama, while Rajesh Bakshi has been posted as Range Officer, SF Range Pattan.
Among the Foresters holding In-charge Range Officer responsibilities, Satish Kumar has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Dudu Range, Udhampur Forest Division. Naresh Kumar Sharma has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Reasi Range, Reasi Forest Division, and Omesh Charak as In-charge Range Officer, Bani Range, Basholi Forest Division.
Shameem Ahmad Dar has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Research Range, Baramulla, while Mohd Saleem Malik has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Agrostology Range, Samba Forest Division. Siddant Dubey has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Purmandal Range, Samba Forest Division.
Sorabh Damral has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Nandni/Deer Park, Jammu, while Ashish Mahajan has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Jambu Zoo, Jammu. Suresh Jamwal has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Dudu Range, Udhampur Forest Division.

Jatinder Singh Bali has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Uri Range, JK Forest Division, Baramulla, while Ghulam Mohiud Din Wani has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Social Forestry Range, Awantipora.
Amit Gupta has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Reasi Range, Social Forestry Division, Udhampur, and will also hold charge of Range Manager, JK Forest Development Corporation (JK FDCL), Agrostology, Reasi Range, in addition to his own duties until further orders.
Akhter Hussain has been posted as In-charge Range Officer, Soil Range, Marwah, Marwah Forest Division, and will also hold charge of Range Officer, Marwah Range, Marwah Forest Division.
Attallah Nayazi, posted as In-charge Zonal Soil Conservation Officer (ZSCO), Haveli, will additionally hold charge of Agrostology Range, Poonch, until further orders.
The order also states that the transfers and postings will not confer any right on the incumbents to claim preferential treatment for promotion, which will continue to be governed by the applicable rules.
The postings will further remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s), if pending before courts of competent jurisdiction.
Officials displaced from their existing places of posting who have not been assigned a new posting under the order have been directed to report to their respective Heads of Department, including the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF, JK, and the Director, JK Social Forestry Department, until further orders.
All officers and officials covered by the order are deemed to have been relieved from their existing assignments with immediate effect.
