Jammu Kashmir Government Allocates Portfolios to New Ministers

   

SRINAGAR: In a significant move, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar, has announced the portfolio distribution for its newly appointed ministers. The announcement comes just two days after Omar assumed the role of Chief Minister of the Union Territory.

As per the order issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the following allocations have been made:

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary will be responsible for Public Works (R&B), Industries & Commerce, Mining, Labour & Employment, Development, and Skill Development.

Sakeena Masood (Itoo) will manage the portfolios of Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare.

Javed Ahmed Rana has been entrusted with Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs.

Javid Ahmad Dar will be in charge of Agriculture Production, Rural Development, panchayati Raj, Cooperative, and Election matters.

Satish Sharma will oversee Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science and Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services and sports, and ARI and Training.

The order also stipulates that any departments not explicitly assigned will remain under the direct oversight of Chief Minister Omar, ensuring his central role in governing the Union Territory.

The Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha ordered the allocations under rule 4(2) of the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019.
