SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 25 officers as Liaison Officers to coordinate with visiting VVIPs and dignitaries during the first International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10.
The appointments were sanctioned through Government Order No. 1483-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on September 4, following a request from the Directorate of Information, J&K.
The officers appointed include senior JKAS officers from various departments and institutions. They have been assigned the responsibility of facilitating and coordinating with visiting VVIPs and dignitaries during the four-day festival.
The list includes Khalid Jahangir, JKAS, Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration; Mehmood Ahmad Shah, JKAS, Managing Director, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited; Shiv Kumar Gupta, JKAS, Controller, Legal Metrology; Sudershan Kumar, JKAS, Managing Director, J&K Trade Promotion Organisation; Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, JKAS, Managing Director, SIDCO/SICOP; Arun Kumar Manhas, JKAS, Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu; and Mussarat-ul-Islam, JKAS, Director, Handloom and Handicrafts, Kashmir.
The other officers appointed are Vikas Sharma, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department; Pawan Kumar Sharma, JKAS, Director, Geology and Mining; Rajinder Kumar Sharma, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Skill Development Department; Shabir Hussain Bhat, JKAS, Vice-Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority; Kapil Sharma, JKAS, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu; and Pawan Kumar, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Labour and Employment Department.
The order also names Rajinder Singh, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction; Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, JKAS, Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums; Ashish Kumar Gupta, JKAS, Director, Disaster Management; Ashiq Hussain Lily, JKAS, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (ex-officio Settlement Officer), Srinagar; Parveez Ahmad Raina, JKAS, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Administration & Enforcement), Kashmir; and Rajnish Kumar, JKAS, Chief Executive Officer, Integrated Watershed Management Programme.
Also appointed are Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, JKAS, Director, Horticulture, Planning and Marketing; Shokat Mehmood, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department; Dr Zahoor Ahmad Magray, JKAS, Additional Commissioner in the office of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; Rakesh Kumar, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, Estates Department; Masarat Hashim, JKAS, Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Srinagar; and Mohammad Anwar Banday, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government, School Education Department.
As per the order, the appointments will remain effective from September 7 to September 10, 2026.
The appointed officers have been directed to report to the Director, Information, J&K, Srinagar, immediately for briefing regarding their duties and responsibilities during the programme.
