Jammu Kashmir: Government Teacher Suspended for Alleged Misconduct

   

SRINAGAR: The Chief Education Office (CEO) Ramban has suspended a government school teacher under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, according to Daily Excelsior.

According to an official order issued on Wednesday, Balwant Singh, a Teacher Grade-II posted at Government Primary School Killaseri in the Batote zone of Ramban district, was suspended with immediate effect. The order specifies that he will remain attached to the CEO Ramban’s office for the duration of the suspension, Daily Excelsior stated.

Officials said the action followed allegations that the teacher had uploaded objectionable and insensitive material on social media, reportedly targeting a particular community. The content is said to have caused concern among local residents, prompting administrative intervention.

The suspension order, numbered CEO/R/2025/32497-500, has been sent to the Director School Education Jammu and the District Development Commissioner Ramban. The Zonal Education Officer Batote has also been directed to undertake the necessary follow-up action.
