SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accepted the technical resignation of Hilal Ahmad Ganie, former Lecturer in Mathematics at Higher Secondary School Chandoosa, Baramulla, following his appointment as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Higher Education Department.
As per Government Order No. 348-JK (Edu) of 2026, dated August 31, 2026, Ganie’s technical resignation has been accepted with effect from June 12, 2025, on his own request. His lien and seniority in the Jammu and Kashmir School Education (Gazetted) Service shall accordingly be deemed terminated.
Ganie had been appointed as Lecturer in Mathematics in the School Education Department through Government Order No. 384-Edu of 2017, dated July 4, 2017. He subsequently applied through proper channel for the post of Assistant Professor (Mathematics) advertised by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
The Director, School Education Kashmir, forwarded his application to the JKPSC on November 28, 2023. He was later selected for the Assistant Professor post under the Open Merit category and figured first in the Commission’s recommendation issued on March 24, 2025, pursuant to Notification No. 17-PSC of 2023 dated May 15, 2023.
Ganie was appointed as Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Higher Education Department through Government Order No. 272-JK (HE) of 2025, dated June 6, 2025, after which he tendered his technical resignation from the School Education Department.
The School Education Department said the resignation case had been examined and, according to available records, there were no outstanding dues or adverse matters against him.
