SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced the Chief Minister’s Award for Honesty, Integrity and Meritorious Public Service for five officials on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.
According to a General Administration Department order issued on Friday, the awardees are Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, JKAS, Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums; Anil Sharma, JKAS, Additional Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi; Amit Vermani, JKAS, Additional Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department; Prof Naseer Iqbal, Registrar, University of Kashmir, Srinagar; and Er Sami-Ullah Beigh, Superintending Engineer, UEED, Jal Shakti/PHE R.W.S Division, Ganderbal.
The order, issued as Government Order No. 1406-JK(GAD) of 2026 and dated August 15, said the awards were being granted for the year 2026 in recognition of honesty, integrity and meritorious public service.
Each awardee will receive a cash prize of Rs 51,000 along with a citation, according to the order.
The General Administration Department has circulated the order to senior government officials, the police, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and heads of departments and public sector undertakings.
