SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 59 officers as liaison officers for visiting dignitaries attending the Global Capability Centres (GCC) Summit scheduled to be held at IIM Jammu on October 9 and 10.
The appointments were approved under Government Order No. 1595-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on October 2, following an official communication from the Labour and Employment Department dated September 30.
The officers have been drawn from various departments and field-level administrative positions, including the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Finance, Culture, Power Development, Tribal Affairs, Industries and Commerce, Social Welfare, Employment, Excise, Handicrafts and Housing and Urban Development departments.
The list includes Assistant Director Estates Anil Kumar, Under Secretary Culture Department Amit Singh Manhas, Functional Manager DIC Kathua Joni Kumar, Under Secretary Power Development Department Waqar Talib and Administrative Officer at Government Medical College Jammu Dr Neha Sharma.
Other officers appointed include Child Development Project Officers, Block Development Officers, State Tax Officers, Excise and Taxation Officers, Functional Managers of District Industries Centres and officers from other government establishments across Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba and adjoining areas.
Among the appointees are CDPO Dansal Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal, Deputy Registrar (Agriculture) Cooperative Societies Jammu Bhawani Atri, Administrative Officer Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society Rohit Kashyap, BDO Mandal Phallian Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Jammu Madhur Anand and Under Secretary J&K Public Service Commission Uttam Singh Palsar.
The order also includes BDOs from Suchetgarh, Akhnoor, R.S. Pura, Chowki Choura, Khour, Hiranagar, Nagrotra, Ramnagar, Nud, Udhampur and Arnia, besides officials from the Excise and Taxation Department and Directorate of Handicrafts.
The appointed officers have been directed to report to the Labour and Employment Department at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, on October 6 for a briefing on their duties and responsibilities during the summit.
