SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed Rameez Ahmed as a Sub-Editor in the J&K Urdu Coordination Cell under the Other Migrants/Resident of Backward Area (OM/RBA) category, with the appointment taking effect immediately.
According to Government Order No. 13989-JK(LD) of 2026, issued by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on October 29, the appointment was made on the recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
The post carries Pay Level 6, with a salary scale of Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400. The appointee has been directed to report to the Directorate of Urdu Coordination Cell in Srinagar within 21 days of the order’s issuance. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the appointment without further notice.
The government order states that the appointee must produce original academic qualification, date-of-birth, domicile, medical fitness and applicable category certificates before joining. The documents will subsequently be verified by the concerned authorities.
The appointment is also subject to the submission of an affidavit confirming the authenticity of the certificates and declaring that the appointee has no criminal record and is not facing criminal proceedings. If any document is found to be fake or forged, the appointment will be cancelled from the outset.
The appointee will remain on probation for two years, and the appointment will be governed by the J&K Urdu Coordination Cell (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules, 2016, and the New Pension Scheme notified in 2009.
The order further stipulates that salary will not be released until satisfactory verification reports regarding the appointee’s educational qualifications, date of birth, domicile and relevant category certificate are received from the issuing authorities.
It also provides that, if the appointee has an outstanding loan for self-employment, he must relinquish ownership and any stake in the relevant enterprise before joining government service. The outstanding liability will be recovered from his salary in instalments determined by the drawing and disbursing officer concerned.
