SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the stepping up of the pay level of 26 members of the JK Secretariat (Gazetted) Service-II from Pay Level-8 (Rs 47,600–1,51,100) to Pay Level-8A (Rs 50,700–1,60,600) to bring them at par with their junior counterpart, Private Secretary Shri Robinder Singh.
The sanction was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) through Government Order No. 1195-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated July 10, 2026.
According to the order, the revised pay level will take effect notionally from July 10, 2024, while the monetary benefit will be admissible from the date of issuance of the order. The officers will receive their next annual increment on January 1, 2025.
The order states that the decision has been taken in pursuance of Government Instruction No. 01 below Article 77-B of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Regulations, Volume-I, read with SRO-225 dated July 4, 1997, and Office Memorandum No. A/100(96)-118 dated June 8, 1999.
The beneficiaries include Private Secretaries posted in various departments and offices, including the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Finance Department, Agriculture Production Department, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, Jal Shakti Department, Power Development Department, Civil Aviation Department, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Information Department, Tribal Affairs Department, Hospitality and Protocol Department, JK Public Service Commission, Chief Electoral Officer’s Office, Government Medical College Srinagar, Government Dental College Jammu, JK Special Tribunal, and the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, among others.
