SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved a Rs 19.61 crore project to develop a sewerage network in several areas of Srinagar, aiming to strengthen sanitation infrastructure and improve wastewater management, the Office of the Chief Minister said on Saturday.
According to a post by the Office of the Chief Minister on X, the project will cover Ahmed Nagar, Pandach, Illahi Bagh, the right side of 90 Feet Road, Rangpora Zakura and Ghulab Bagh.
The government said the project is intended to enhance the city’s sewerage infrastructure, improve sanitation services and facilitate more efficient wastewater management across the identified localities.
Officials said the scheme is expected to benefit residents of these areas by expanding access to improved sewerage facilities and supporting better public sanitation.
No timeline for the commencement or completion of the project was announced.
The announcement was made by the Office of the Chief Minister through its official X handle.
