SRINAGAR: Nine persons were injured after a Xylo SUV overturned on a slippery stretch of road in the Hayan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.
Officials said the vehicle (JK02CS-7581) was on its way from Srinagar to Ladakh when the driver allegedly lost control, causing it to skid off the road and overturn.
Preliminary reports suggest the accident was caused by a combination of overspeeding and slippery road conditions following wet weather.
All the injured, including the driver, were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Kangan, where they are undergoing treatment.
Hospital officials said all the injured are in stable condition.
Police have registered the incident and started an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
