SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved three heritage conservation projects worth Rs 18.60 crore in Samba, Kathua and Anantnag districts, covering restoration of historic structures and development of heritage sites.
The projects include the conservation of Uttervehini Heritage in Samba at an estimated cost of Rs 6.86 crore, restoration and renovation of Basohli Fort in Kathua at Rs 6.50 crore, and revival of Nallah Soundbrari Spring in Anantnag at Rs 5.24 crore.
The Uttervehini Heritage project will focus on the restoration and revival of old heritage structures at the site.
At Basohli Fort, the approved works will include repairs, renovation and beautification of the historic fort.
The project at Nallah Soundbrari Spring in Anantnag includes restoration and revival of the Yatri Niwas, along with beautification of the water spring.
The three projects are aimed at conserving JK’s heritage sites and promoting heritage-based tourism across the Union Territory.
