SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has assigned the routine functions of the posts of Chief Engineer (Mechanical) for Jammu and Kashmir divisions to the respective Superintending Engineers with immediate effect.
The arrangement has been made under Government Order No. 185-PW (R and B) of 2026, issued by the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department, to ensure continuity in administrative and developmental works until regular appointments are made.
According to the order, the Superintending Engineers will discharge the additional responsibilities alongside their existing duties until the vacancies are filled on a permanent basis in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Engineering (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules and subject to approval by the competent authority.
