Officials said that the movement of goods carriers, including heavy and medium motor vehicles (HMVs/MMVs), will be restricted on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway from midnight of April 30 (intervening night of April 30 and May 1, 2026).

The restrictions will be enforced in both directions—between Jakheni in Udhampur and Ramban, extending further to Banihal and Srinagar, as well as from Qazigund towards Banihal, Ramban, and Udhampur.

The advisory has been issued to facilitate the safe passage of government employees relocating under the seasonal “Darbar Move,” a longstanding administrative practice in Jammu and Kashmir.

Transporters, particularly those carrying perishable goods or livestock, have been advised to plan their movement in advance and load vehicles accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Commuters have also been urged to follow official traffic updates and plan their travel to minimise disruption during the convoy movement.
