SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has introduced fixed timelines for the release of funds and processing of bills as part of measures to strengthen financial management and ensure the timely implementation of development projects.
Under an order issued by the Finance Department, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) funds are required to be released within 10 days, while funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) must be disbursed within 48 hours.
The order also stipulates that requests for advance drawal should be processed within five working days.
In addition, bills submitted through the SNA-SPARSH system are to be cleared within two working days to facilitate faster payments and improve transparency in the utilisation of public funds.
According to the Finance Department, the prescribed timelines are aimed at streamlining fund flow, minimising payment delays and enhancing the overall efficiency of financial operations across government departments.
