SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned the grant of first in-situ promotion in favour of 12 Senior Stenographers of the JK Secretariat (Subordinate) Service in Pay Level 8-A (Rs 50,700–Rs 1,60,600), with effect from November 1, 2025.
According to Government Order No. 1062-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department (General Administration Department Jammu and Kashmir), the decision has been taken in pursuance of the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting held on May 15, 2026.
The order has been issued under the provisions of the JK Civil Services Higher Standard Pay Scale Scheme Rules, 1996, notified vide SRO-14 of 1996, and read with subsequent amendments under SRO-93 of 2009 and SRO-42 of 2011.
The officials granted in-situ promotion include Abid Ahmad Allagaband, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Zameer Ahmad Allagaband, Nuzhat Amin Beig, Shiraz Ashraf, Ajay Bharti, Parveez Ahmed Mir, Hilal Ahmed Thoker, Jiwan Lal, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Mudasir Qayoom, and Mohammad Rafiq.
The government has further directed that arrears on account of the in-situ promotion shall be drawn by the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officers in accordance with the General Financial Rules, 2017.
