SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday sanctioned one day of Special Casual Leave in view of Eid-ul-Azha for employees of the Union Territory who wish to avail it.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the leave will be applicable on May 29, 2026 (Friday), on the occasion of the religious festival.
The order, issued under Government Order No. 1012-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated May 25, 2026, states that the decision has been taken to facilitate employees observing Eid-ul-Azha.
It has been clarified that the leave is optional and will be granted to those employees who choose to avail it.
The directive has been circulated to all administrative departments, heads of departments, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and other senior officials across the Union Territory for necessary compliance.
