SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has expanded the Task Force constituted for the rehabilitation of drug abuse victims by including two additional senior officials as members.
According to Government Order No. 28-JK (GAD) of 2026, dated January 7, 2026, the Administrative Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department and the Administrative Secretary of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj have been inducted into the Task Force. The decision has been taken through a partial modification of Government Order No. GAD-ADMOIV/134/2025-09-GAD.
The order further authorises the Task Force to co-opt any other members, as may be considered necessary, to support its mandate.
The Task Force was originally constituted under Government Order No. 1515 JK (GAD) of 2025, dated 25 November 2025, to formulate and oversee measures for the rehabilitation of victims of drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.
The government said the remaining provisions of the earlier order will continue to remain in force.
