SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has issued a final notice to Sameer Ahmad Wani, appointed as a Lecturer in Statistics, directing him to report to the department within seven days or face cancellation of his appointment.
According to the notice dated October 15, 2026, Wani, son of Abdul Hamid Wani, a resident of Ganderbal district, was appointed through Government Order No. 278-JK(Edu) of 2026, issued on July 8.
The appointment order required him to join the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, within 21 days. However, the directorate subsequently informed the department that he had failed to join within the stipulated period.
The department had earlier issued a notice on September 1, directing Wani to report to the Administrative Department at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar within five days. The latest notice states that he had not complied with that direction either.
Granting him one final opportunity, the department has directed him to report to the School Education Department at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar within seven days of the notice’s issuance.
It has warned that failure to comply within the prescribed period will result in cancellation of his appointment without any further notice.
