SRINAGAR: A 45-year-old labourer was killed and four others injured after a landslide struck a road construction site in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 11.50 am near Angan Pathri, a hilly area in Sawajian tehsil, where labourers were working on the under-construction Poonch-Gulmarg road.
The workers had been engaged by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), which operates under the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), officials said.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Bashir, a resident of Danna Gagrian village. The four injured labourers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, they added.
