SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has nominated Syed Ahmad Kataria, JKAS, Additional Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, as the department’s Nodal Officer for coordinating road safety issues.
According to Government Order No. 254-JK (Edu) of 2026, the appointment has been made in supersession of all previous orders issued on the subject.
The order states that Kataria will coordinate road safety-related matters concerning the School Education Department and serve as the designated nodal officer for liaising with the concerned authorities on the issue.
Issued by the School Education Department, the order takes immediate effect and will remain in force until modified or superseded by a subsequent government order.
