SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the promotion of 11 Inspectors of the General Cadre to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), with immediate effect.
The promotions were sanctioned through Government Order No. 450-Home of 2026, issued by the Home Department on September 2, following recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JK PSC) and communications from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), JK.
The officers promoted are Sheikh Azad (PID No. ARP985554), Imtiyaz Ahmad (ARP985553), Bashir Ahmad (ARP985435), Mohd. Amin (ARP985496), Mohd. Alyas Malik (ARP981649), Sanjeev Kumar (ARP983931), Mohd. Farooq (ARP985494), Bahar Ahmad (ARP981680), Mushtaq Ahmad (ARP985555), Mir Riyaz Ahmad (ARP983609) and Farooq Ahmad (ARP984121).
Following their promotion, the officers will be placed in Pay Level-8, carrying a pay scale of ₹47,600–Rs 1,51,100.
The order refers to the JK PSC’s recommendations communicated on August 18, 2026, as well as CID communications dated August 20 and August 27, 2026.
The government order states that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s), if pending before a competent court of law.
The order was issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and signed by Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
