SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted the Governing Board of Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as Chairperson, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as Co-Chairperson and the Minister for Higher Education as Vice-Chairperson.
According to Government Order No. 1193-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated July 9, 2026, the reconstituted Governing Board comprises 19 members representing the government, the University of Kashmir and the Hindu Education Society, Kashmir.
The members include the Administrative Secretary, Finance Department; Administrative Secretary, Higher Education Department; Administrative Secretary, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Director Colleges, JK; Dean, Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir; Dean, College Development Council, University of Kashmir; and Prof. BL Zutshi, President, Hindu Education Society, Kashmir.
The Principal, Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar, will serve as the Member Secretary of the Board.
Other members are Prof. Ashok Aima, former Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu and Academic Advisor to the Hindu Education Society, Kashmir; Prof. Veena Pandita, former Chairperson of JKBOSE and Academic Advisor to the Society; Prof. Verinder Rawal, General Secretary of the Hindu Education Society, Kashmir; SK Raina, Member Finance of the Society; MK. Jalali, Member of the Executive Body; Virender Raina, Member of the Executive Body; MK Bangroo, Member of the Executive Body; and Advocate Shivani Jalali, General Body Member of the Hindu Education Society, Kashmir.
The order has been issued by the General Administration Department with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
