SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Jammu and Kashmir, has reconstituted its Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for the prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women at the workplace under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
According to Order No. 96-DES of 2026, issued by Director General Reyaz Ahmad Romshoo, the committee has been reconstituted by superseding all previous orders issued on the subject.
Ashu Gupta, Director General and Regional Director (Economics and Statistics), Jammu, has been appointed Chairperson of the committee, while Deepa Sharma, Principal, SAES Jammu, will serve as Member Secretary.
The other members are Mohd. Yousuf Bhat, Assistant Director, DES; Ashita Baru, Assistant Director, DES; Shazia Hassan, Statistical Officer, Regional Directorate (E and S), Kashmir; and Seema Bhogal, Statistical Officer, DES.
The order states that the committee will examine complaints relating to harassment of women at the workplace, conduct appropriate inquiries, implement the department’s policy on prevention of workplace harassment, resolve grievances and recommend action to the competent authority in accordance with the provisions of the Act and applicable rules.
The committee has also been directed to submit a monthly report to the Director General, Economics and Statistics, JK, by the fifth day of every month.
