SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday ordered changes in the postings of Chief Education Officers in Jammu and Udhampur, while placing Principal Sunil Kumar Khajuria as In-charge Chief Education Officer.
According to Government Order No. 308-JK (Edu) of 2026, dated August 5, Khajuria, Principal of Higher Secondary School Pallanwalla, Jammu, has been placed as In-charge Chief Education Officer and Equivalent in his own pay and grade with immediate effect.
Following his placement, Khajuria has been posted as Chief Education Officer, Udhampur.
Consequently, Subash Chander Gupta, who was serving as In-charge Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, has been transferred and posted as Chief Education Officer, Jammu.
The government has stipulated that Khajuria’s placement will not give him any preferential claim or right to regularisation or confirmation, which will be considered by the Departmental Promotion Committee or Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in accordance with the rules.
The placement will also remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts.
Under the order, the officer is required to submit an undertaking to the concerned Director stating that the placement will be treated as cancelled ab initio if his service particulars or academic credentials are found to be fake, forged, tampered with or issued by an unrecognised university.
The placement will also stand cancelled ab initio in the event of an adverse report from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, General Administration Department (Vigilance), Criminal Investigation Department or any other concerned agency.
The officer has been directed to join his new place of posting within 10 days of the issuance of the order. Failure to join within the stipulated period will result in cancellation of the placement without further notice.
