SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered a sweeping administrative reshuffle within its Public Works Department, transferring, posting, or adjusting dozens of senior engineers with immediate effect.
The comprehensive order follows the promotion of several In-charge Assistant Executive Engineers to the level of In-charge Executive Engineers over the past few months, all of whom were awaiting formal postings. Issued by the Civil Secretariat under the authority of Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anil Kumar Singh, alongside Additional Secretary Tanveer Ul Majid Wani, the directive impacts key divisions across Jammu, Srinagar, and rural sectors.
A significant portion of the order assigns crucial roles to officers who were previously awaiting placement. Among them, Er Akhter Hussain Shah takes over the PMGSY Division Ramban from Er Gh Mohd Sheikh, Er Sumit Kotwal moves to the Police Housing Corporation replacing Er Imran Khan, and Er Amit Abrol assumes charge at PMGSY Division Reasi in place of Er Kewal Singh. In Jammu, Er Naveen Gupta has been posted to the PW Division East Jammu against an available vacancy, additionally holding the charge of the JK Sports Council Jammu. Er Irfan Ahmad Miskeen is shifted to the Directorate of Design, Inspection and Quality Control vice Er Adil Mushtaq Rather, while Er Raman Sumbria takes over the PW PD-I Jammu division from Er Amit Sharma.
Furthermore, Er Zareena Tabussum has been adjusted into the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, and Er Mohd Khalid has had his services placed at the disposal of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj for future placement.
The extensive shake-up continues with Er Zia Rehman Qazi replacing Er Javid Ahmad Dar at the PW Division Pulwama, and Er Khalid Owais heading to the PW Division Gurez vice Er Abdul Aziz Lone. Administrative department adjustments see Er Anu Shivgotra assigned as Technical Officer to the Chief Engineer of DIQC. Moving to municipal corporations, Er Kuldeep Kumar, who was previously under orders of transfer to Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, goes to the Jammu Municipal Corporation, while Er Mohd Sajad Khan, previously bound for DIQC, is redirected to the PW Division Poonch.
Technical officer swaps include Er Imran Khan transferring to the Chief Engineer of PW Zone Pir Panjal vice Er Basharat Ali. Er Amit Sharma is posted to the PW Division Khour, Er Maqsood Ahmad Basu heads to PMGSY Division Pulwama vice Er Ghulam Gousu Saqlain, and Er Javid Ahmad Dar takes over the PW Division Kulgam from Er Shabir Ahmad Tak. Meanwhile, Er Ghulam Gousu Saqlain is moved to the Srinagar Development Authority, and Er Muneer Ahmad goes to the SMC City Roads Division.
Further cross-postings involve Er Khurshid Jahan, who moves to the PW Division DH Pora replacing Er Ghulam Mohammad Shiekh, who in turn transitions to the PW Division Vailoo vice Er Manzoor Ahmad Parray. Er Parray is subsequently adjusted into the PW Division Pahalgam. Er Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani takes over the PW Division Pattan from Er Isma Wahid, whose services, alongside those of Er Kewal Singh and Er Abdul Aziz Lone, have been assigned to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. Er Adil Mushtaq Rather moves to the PW Division Tangmarg vice Er Altaf Hussain Lone, who shifts to the PW Division Kralpora vice Er Muneer Ahmad, while simultaneously holding additional charge of PMGSY Division Kupwara. Er Gh Mohd Sheikh is posted to the JK Housing Board Srinagar, and Er Basharat Ali moves to DIQC vice Er Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani. Er Pawan Kumar joins the SMata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra, Er Firdous Ahmad Gratta takes over the JK Sports Council Kashmir vice Er Irfan Ahmad Banday, and Er Banday shifts to PW PD-III Srinagar.
Rounding off the massive redeployment, Er Syed Masoodi moves from REW Kulgam to PMGSY Division Handwara vice Er Khurshid Jahan. Er Shabir Ahmad Tak transitions to the PW Division Zainpora vice Er Mohammad Jahangir Hakim, who is subsequently routed to the PW Division Lolab. Er Rajesh Sharma and Er Rajesh Kumar swap roles, with Sharma moving from PMGSY Division Kishtwar to the Jammu Municipal Corporation, and Kumar heading in the opposite direction to PMGSY Kishtwar.
To ensure continuous operation across various regions, several engineers have been burdened with additional operational duties; Er Farooq Ahmad Shah will oversee the PW Division Langate alongside Handwara, Er Zahoor Ahmad will govern the PW Division Tangdar until Er Javid Iqbal returns to duty, and Er Neeraj Gupta will look after the PW Division Reasi in addition to Katra. Copies of the extensive order have been dispatched to all administrative departments, the central ministries, and relevant field offices to ensure seamless transition management.
