SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has directed all its officers and officials to register themselves with the Biometric Attendance System, regardless of whether they are posted for duty inside or outside court complexes.
The direction was issued through Circular No. 27 of 2026/RG/NG-277 (1), dated August 13, by Registrar General M K Sharma.
The High Court has also directed the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of all three wings to draw salaries and wages only for officers and officials registered with the biometric system.
However, the court clarified that officials performing official duties outside court complexes will not be required to mark their daily attendance through the biometric system.
The latest circular has been issued in continuation of the directions contained in High Court Circular No. 83 dated June 28, 2018, regarding the implementation of the Biometric Attendance System.
The order applies to officers and officials of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
