SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has sanctioned the placement of 20 Assistant Professors, Librarians and PTIs of Government Degree Colleges in Academic Pay Level 11 with an Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs 7,000, according to a government order issued on Tuesday.
Government Order No. 314-JK (HE) of 2026, dated September 15, was issued by the Higher Education Department following the minutes of the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting held on April 22, 2024.
The placement covers faculty members from subjects including Urdu, English, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Applications, Psychology, Biotechnology, Commerce, Geography, Hindi, Education and Kashmiri.
According to the order, the placement dates for the 20 faculty members range from August 2020 to April 2021. In the case of Rouf Ahmad, the placement in the higher pay level is due from April 9, 2021, from the date of award of his PhD.
The beneficiaries listed in Annexure A are Dr Saleem Ahmed, Dr Rabia Iqbal, Dr Ajaz Ul Islam, Dr Sajad Hussain Rather, Dr Mudasir Hassan Dar, Dr Gaurav Kumar, Dr Tawseef Amhed Teli, Ajaz Ahmad Hajam, Rajinder Kumar, Imran Hussain Shah, Azhar Javed, Asha Devi, Mujahid Ul Islam, Sanjay Kumar, Gatuam Singh Lalotra, Rajni Kumari, Mohd Muzzafar Lone, Rouf Ahmad, Nazir-Ul Amin Gash and Deeba.
The department has directed the concerned principals not to release arrears from their regular salary budgets. Instead, they have been asked to seek additional funds separately for payment of the arrears.
