SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated on Tuesday that the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood is as certain as the sun rising in the east.
He added that no political effort or promises are necessary to fulfil this commitment.
The LG made these remarks while addressing a gathering in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. His comments appeared to be a pointed response to the National Conference’s repeated pledges to restore statehood—a task, he suggested, that requires no political effort.
“The assurance given by the government in the parliamentary session is as true as the sun rising in the east,” LG Sinha said, adding that no effort is needed from anyone in this regard. (KNS)
