SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness a decline in rainfall activity from Wednesday, with generally dry weather expected across the Union Territory until September 10, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said.
The weather office forecast generally hot and humid conditions for Tuesday, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers likely at many places. Brief spells of intense rainfall are also possible, particularly over parts of Jammu division during the early morning and late afternoon or evening hours.
The Meteorological Centre cautioned that intense and localised showers could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas. Residents in landslide-prone locations have been advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy or intense rainfall.
From September 2 to 10, weather is expected to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir, although brief spells of rain and thundershowers may occur at isolated to scattered places, mainly during the early morning and afternoon hours.
The forecast indicates a gradual reduction in widespread rainfall activity after Tuesday, with isolated showers remaining possible at some locations during the period.
