SRINAGAR: An old shell was recovered in the Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Officials said the shell was spotted by local residents in the Upper Ghani area of Sector Mankote, Mendhar, at around 11:15 am. The locals immediately informed Police Post Balnoi, following which police personnel rushed to the site.
Subsequently, an Army team was called in. After securing the area and taking necessary precautions, the Army safely destroyed the old shell, officials added. (GNS)
