SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra won the toss and elected to field against Rest of India in the Irani Cup at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar on Thursday.
The five-day contest, scheduled from October 1 to 5, features the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy champions J&K against a Rest of India side led by India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
J&K have included Nasir Lone in their playing XI, with Dogra leading a side comprising Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Kanhaiya Wadhawan, Qamran Iqbal, Sahil Lotra, Shubham Khajuria, Shubham Singh Pundir, Sunil Kumar and Umar Nazir.

Pant will captain Rest of India and keep wickets. The visitors’ XI includes pacers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, along with M G Choudhary, M J Suthar, S N Khan, Sanat Sangwan, Saransh Jain, Shikhar Mohan, Smaran R and Sudip Kumar Gharami.

The Irani Cup is an annual first-class fixture between the reigning Ranji Trophy champions and a Rest of India team. The 2026 edition is being played in Srinagar from October 1 to 5.
