SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday attached properties under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the Gool area of Ramban district.
An official said that, in a move to combat militancy, Ramban Police attached agricultural land measuring 10.18 kanals—under Section 25 of the UAPA, 1967.
“Land includes 7 kanals and 3 marlas registered in the name of Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Sultan, resident of Dalwah, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban. The land falls under Khasra Nos. 282 Min, 274 Min, and 664/544/361, Khewat Nos. 98 and 99, located in village Dalwah, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban.”
He said, “Additionally, 3 kanals and 15 marlas of land registered in the name of Mohd Younis, son of Gullu Gujjar, resident of Hara, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban, were also attached. This land falls under Khasra Nos. 129/330/193/402/363/343/214/182/124/127, Khewat Nos. 51, 52, and 55, located at village Kalimasta Mohra Hara, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban.”
“All the attached properties have been duly recorded in the revenue records, and notices prohibiting their sale or transfer have been served under the UAPA. The attachment is linked to case FIR No. 04/2024 under Sections 120-B, 121-A of the IPC and Sections 13, 18, 20, and 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Gool. The action was carried out in the presence of a police team and an Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures,” the official said.
During the investigation of the same case, police had previously attached land measuring 23.13 kanals in February 2025. With the latest action of attaching 10.18 kanals, the total land attached in this case stands at 34.11 kanals. (JKNS)
