Jammu Kashmir Police Attach House Worth Rs 16.77 Lakh in Shopian

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a residential house valued at Rs 16.77 lakh in Shopian district, alleging that the property was acquired through proceeds generated from drug trafficking.

The property belongs to Hilal Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Ahmad Dar, a resident of Vehil in Shopian, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the attachment was carried out in connection with FIR No. 80/2024 registered at Police Station Shopian. The property was identified as having been acquired through proceeds from the illegal trade in drugs and narcotics.

The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of a police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, police said, adding that the process was carried out in accordance with legal procedures.

Police said the action was part of its ongoing crackdown on narcotics-related activities, with a focus on targeting both those involved in drug trafficking and assets allegedly generated through illicit activities.

Police also appealed to the public to share information about drug trafficking and other narcotics-related activities
