In a post on X, Mehbooba said she spent time with her mother at Dreng, describing the area as a “breathtakingly beautiful place” known for its waterfall.

However, she expressed concern over the poor condition of the road from Tangmarg to Dreng, saying it had made the destination difficult to access, particularly for tourists.

“Yet it’s deeply unfortunate that despite its immense natural beauty, the deplorable condition of the road from Tangmarg to Dreng has made this beautiful destination almost inaccessible particularly for tourists,” she said.

Mehbooba appealed to Omar Abdullah and the Commissioner Secretary of the Works Department to intervene and ensure that the road is repaired.

She said Dreng had the potential to emerge as a major tourist attraction and should find a prominent place on Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism map.

“Drung has all the potential to become a major tourist attraction and deserves its rightful place on J&K’s tourism map,” she said.
