SRINAGAR: The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar has ordered the transfer of 16 inspectors across the Central Kashmir Range (CKR), North Kashmir Range (NKR) and South Kashmir Range (SKR), with immediate effect.
The transfers were ordered through an administrative order dated October 19, 2026, directing the officers to be relieved forthwith for their new places of posting.
According to the order issued by the Zonal Police Headquarters, Kashmir, seven inspectors have been transferred from CKR Srinagar to other ranges, while six have been shifted from SKR Anantnag to NKR Baramulla. The remaining three transfers involve officers moving from NKR Baramulla to CKR Srinagar or SKR Anantnag.
Among the officers transferred from CKR Srinagar to NKR Baramulla are Mohammad Manzoor, Suhail Mushtaq Baba and Aijaz Ahmad Parray. Altaf Hussain Wani has also been transferred to NKR Baramulla for Police District Handwara.
Sabzar Ahmad Ganie, Towseef Habib and Tanveer Hussain have been shifted from CKR Srinagar to SKR Anantnag.
From SKR Anantnag, Showkat Ahmad and Muhsin Ahmad Dar have been transferred to NKR Baramulla for District Kupwara, while Mohd Liaqat Khan and Khalid Fayaz Math have been posted to the North Kashmir range for District Bandipora.
Parvaze Ahmad Rather has also been transferred from SKR Anantnag to NKR Baramulla. Masoodul-Hassan Malik has been shifted from SKR Anantnag to CKR Srinagar for District Ganderbal.
Among the officers transferred from NKR Baramulla, Mohd Saleem Mir has been posted to CKR Srinagar for District Srinagar, while Hilal Ahmad Darzi has been transferred to the Central Kashmir range for District Ganderbal. Jan Mohammad has been shifted from NKR Baramulla to SKR Anantnag.
The order also regularises the relieving of four inspectors whose transfers had been directed through earlier orders.
Ghulam Mohammad Rather, who was transferred from CKR Srinagar to SKR Anantnag under an order dated April 11, 2025, has been deemed relieved from his previous range.
Reyaz Ahmad Lanqoo, transferred from SKR Anantnag to CKR Srinagar for District Srinagar under an order dated September 25, 2026, has likewise been deemed relieved.
Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, earlier transferred from NKR Baramulla to CKR Srinagar under an order issued on April 11, 2025, and a subsequent corrigendum dated May 14, 2025, has also been deemed relieved. The same direction applies to Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, whose transfer from CKR Srinagar to NKR Baramulla was ordered on January 19, 2024.
The Inspector General of Police has directed all range Deputy Inspectors General and district Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police in Kashmir Zone to take necessary action in accordance with the order.
