SRINAGAR: The Cyber Cell of Police District Awantipora has successfully resolved multiple cases of online financial fraud, recovering a total of Rs 1,89,238.
A police spokesperson said, “Several complaints were received regarding fraudulent schemes amounting to Rs 1,89,238. These scams involved fake investment opportunities, where victims were promised high returns in exchange for additional deposits.”
“Acting swiftly, the Cyber Cell of Police District Awantipora gathered evidence and necessary information from the victims. Using advanced cyber techniques, they managed to freeze the fraudulent transactions. The recovered amount of Rs 1,89,238 was successfully credited back to the victims,” he said. (KNT)
