Jammu Kashmir: School Education Dept Seeks Candidate, Vacancy Details in Supreme Court Case

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has sought detailed information from the Directors of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, regarding candidates and vacancies in connection with a Supreme Court matter involving the department.

The information has been sought in SLP to Appeal (C) No. 12210/2023, arising from the judgment and order dated February 4, 2023, in SWP No. 3801/2019, UT of JK and others versus Saba Wani and connected matters.

In a communication dated July 30, issued as a Reminder-II, the department said the requisite information, which was required to be furnished by July 25 along with the vacancy position, had not been received.

The Directors of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, have now been asked to provide the pending information within one week so that the department can process the matter without further delay.

The department has specifically sought details on the genuineness and date of the select panels, availability of vacancies and whether the concerned candidates had approached any court, along with the present status of such proceedings.

It has also sought details of the candidates’ educational qualifications and confirmation regarding fulfilment of all other prescribed eligibility conditions.

The department said the information was required to enable the authorities to take a considered decision regarding implementation of the Supreme Court judgment strictly in accordance with law.

The latest communication follows an earlier departmental communication dated June 29 and a reminder issued on July 16. It also refers to Government Order No. 230-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated June 15, 2026.
