SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir reached 70 for four at tea on the second day of the Irani Cup against the Rest of India at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar on Friday, still 167 runs behind the visitors’ first-innings total.

J&K resumed at 21 for two but lost Shubham Khajuria for four and Qamran Iqbal for 24 during the morning session. The hosts slipped to 37 for four before captain Paras Dogra and Abdul Samad put together a stabilising partnership to take the score to 70 at the interval.
Rest of India were dismissed for 237 on the opening day after J&K’s bowlers made early inroads. Smaran Ravichandran top-scored with 68, while Sunil Kumar and Lone Nasir Muzaffar took three wickets each and Umar Nazir Mir claimed two.
J&K had ended the first day on 21 for two after Akash Deep removed nightwatchman Umar Nazir, while Mukesh Choudhary had earlier dismissed Shubham Pundir.
The match, which began on Thursday, is being played at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium as J&K, the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy champions, take on the Rishabh Pant-led Rest of India side. It is the first time the Irani Cup has been staged in Kashmir.
