Jammu Kashmir: Transport Commissioner Orders Transfer of Five Motor Vehicle Inspectors

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of five Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) as part of an administrative reshuffle intended to ensure the smooth functioning of the Motor Vehicles Department.

As per Order No. 140-TC of 2026, issued by the Office of the Transport Commissioner on July 29, 2026, Danish Yaqoob has been transferred from the ARTO Office, Baramulla, to the ARTO Office, Ganderbal.

Pervaiz Ahmad Khan has been shifted from the Transport Commissioner’s Office, where he was posted with the UT Level Enforcement Team, to the ARTO Office, Budgam.

Tariq Ahmad Jhara has been transferred from the ARTO Office, Ganderbal, to the ARTO Office, Kulgam, while Asif Amin Chalkoo has been moved from the ARTO Office, Budgam, to the ARTO Office, Kupwara.

Hakim Shahid Mehboob Chirag has been transferred from the ARTO Office, Kulgam, to the ARTO Office, Baramulla.

The order said the transfers had been effected in the interest of administration and to facilitate the efficient functioning of the Motor Vehicles Department.

The transferred officers will also serve as members of the Board of Inspection and the Driving Testing Board within their respective jurisdictions, in addition to carrying out their regular duties. They will also undertake enforcement responsibilities as per the roster issued by the Transport Commissioner.

The officials have been relieved of their existing assignments with immediate effect and directed to report to their new places of posting without delay.
