According to local news agency CNS, the women and children community have been suffering a lot since the closure of these anganwadi centers.

“We have failed to understand who closed these centers from last one year without any official order. But they are open to the owners of houses where the centers are located,” he said.

“Though Anganwadi centers provide basic health care, these centers lack every basic facility thus pushing the mother and child care to face the inconvenience,” said a local.

According to locals, the food stock that is being sent by the concerned department for the school children health care is not utilized on them.

“All the stock is used by the owners family at whose residence the centers are located,” he said adding “one centre is located in Sarpanch’s house”

“The owners continue to relish free of cost ration while the students are asked from last one year that the centers are closed and there is no food stock send by the department for them,” he added.

District Programme Officer ICDS Baramulla, Aashiq Hussain said that he will take a strong action against this management.

“Ask them to submit a written complaint in my office, I will definitely act,” the officer said.
