Jammu Kashmir: VDG Member Opens Fire After Spotting Suspicious Movement

   

SRINAGAR:  A Village Defence Group (VDG) member opened fire after noticing suspicious movement in the Nowshera area of Jammu and Kashmir late Sunday, officials said

Official sources said that the incident occurred when the VDG member noticed unusual activity in the area and fired shots as a precautionary measure.

Security forces were immediately alerted and launched a search operation in and around the area to ascertain the situation, they said.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Further details regarding the incident are awaited. (KNC)
