SRINAGAR: Northern Railway’s Jammu Division detected 6,617 cases during an intensive ticket-checking drive in September 2026, generating Rs 48.88 lakh in railway revenue, according to a statement issued by Northern Railway.
The checking drive was conducted across stations in the division, including Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, to curb ticketless and irregular travel.
Railway authorities also took action against violations involving smoking and littering during the campaign.
Northern Railway has urged passengers to travel with valid tickets and follow rules governing smoking and cleanliness on railway premises.
