According to the IMD Centre, weather activity during the period is expected to remain fairly widespread to widespread, with light to moderate rainfall across the region.

The weather is expected to become more active from August 11, with conditions forecast to intensify from the prevailing yellow alert to the orange alert category.

The department had earlier warned of intense localised rainfall and isolated cloudburst events in higher reaches and vulnerable areas of the Chenab Valley, Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch after August 10.

Jammu is likely to record maximum temperatures between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius during the period, with hot and humid conditions expected.

Divisional and district authorities have reiterated safety advisories for people living in or travelling through vulnerable areas, urging them to remain alert, stay away from water bodies and avoid venturing into identified vulnerable stretches.
