SRINAGAR: Authorities have announced nightly traffic halts on Tunnel-5 of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for maintenance. The closures will be for two consecutive nights, starting at midnight on Thursday, December 21st, and Friday, December 22nd, lasting until 6:00 AM.
The six-hour halts are necessary for essential maintenance within Tunnel-5, a crucial passage connecting Jammu and Srinagar. Commuters are advised to plan for possible delays during these hours. The maintenance work is vital for the long-term functionality and safety of the tunnel.

“On December 23, 2023, from 0000 hrs. to 0600 hrs., traffic will be suspended between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW,” Traffic Police Jammu and Kashmir said in a post on X.
