SRINAGAR: National Conference MP Choudhary Ramzan said the recent protest at Jantar Mantar seeking restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir had brought the region’s concerns to wider national attention.
Speaking to reporters in Handwara, the MP said people across the country had become more aware of the challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir and the changes it had undergone over the years.
Ramzan criticised the Opposition for what he described as a lack of understanding of the situation on the ground.
“What the opposition says is just from their bedrooms,” he said.
He said Jammu and Kashmir was facing significant challenges, with several matters beyond the immediate control of the government.
Ramzan, however, expressed confidence that the situation would improve and that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would see better days ahead.
