After remaining hospitalized for over two months Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. The 68-year-old actress turned politician has shot a number of movies in Kashmir.
In August, 2016, during a debate on situation in Kashmir, the tense atmosphere inside Parliament’s upper house suddenly eased when an AIADMK MP A Navaneethakrishnan, sang Kashmir beautiful Kashmir from MGR-Jayalalithaa starrer Idaya Veenai (1978).
The particular song, shot against picturesque snow-covered peaks of Sonmarg, has young Jayalalithaa dancing with MGR. The next frame is cut to inside beautiful Mughal Gardens where, in a playful mood, lets herself get mesmerized by a wide variety of flowers.
