JCO injured in mine blast during patrol along LoC

   

SRINAGAR: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army was injured in a mine blast during a routine patrol in the forward Jhangar sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district.

Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that the incident occurred while an Army patrol was carrying out area domination and surveillance in the forward belt of Jhangar. During the patrol, a sudden explosion took place, injuring the JCO.

According to the report, the injured officer was identified as Naib Subedar Hiteshwar Gogoi of the 14 Assam Regiment.

Following the blast, fellow soldiers immediately launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured officer to a nearby military medical facility for first aid. He was later referred to Command Hospital, Udhampur, for advanced treatment, the report said.

Army officials said the officer’s condition is being monitored. Further details are awaited.
