With a view to impart basic financial education to people in rural areas, J&K Bank conducted many awareness programmes in district Budgam during the last month. A large number of people including students, farmers, fruit growers and other local residents participated in the programmes.

Awareness Camps at Kanir and Loolipora

FLCC Budgam in collaboration with district Lead Bank Office organised financial literacy camps at Higher Secondary School Kanir, which were attended by hundreds of students along with faculty and other school staff.

The students were familiarized with the financial services and products offered by the Bank to help them manage their finances better.

Speaking at the camps, Facilitator FLCC Budgam explained the benefits of small savings, utility of ATM Cards and DBT scheme suitable for students getting scholarships for continuation of their studies.

The principal of the school appreciated the efforts of Bank and assured to take immediate steps so that all the students open their accounts with the Bank.                         

Loolipora Camp

The awareness camp at Loolipora was attended by a good number of fruit growers, farmers, small traders and local youth.

Facilitator FLCC Budgam educated the participants about the Bank’s Apple project and benefits of availing various products like KCC and ACC.

He also discussed the need to establish MSME Units coupled with incentives/interest subsidies available under such type of schemes.

Nowpora Camp

At Nowpora, the participants were apprised in detail about the Bank’s Apple Finance Scheme.

Facilitator FLCC gave the detailed overview of the scheme, its benefits, incentives and interest subventions.

He impressed upon the orchardists to come forward and avail the facility under the scheme and boost their business activity.

Financial awareness at RSETI Budgam

The fresh batch of 20 candidates undergoing 15 days training program in Crewel, Embroidery works at RSETI Budgam were educated about the basic concepts of banking knowledge.

All the participants were familiarized with the various banking products and services besides procedures of opening accounts with the banks.

The trainees were urged to avail the credit facilities from banks to boost their economic activity and improve their living conditions.

Director RSETI presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
