J&K-Bank

On the occasion of World Plantation Day, J&K Bank Monday planted scores of saplings across Badamvaer in Srinagar, which has been developed and maintained by the Bank under its heritage preservation programme.

The Bank’s Executive Presidents Parvez Ahmad, Abdul Rauf Bhat and S S Sehgal, Senior President M S Wani, Presidents, Vice-presidents and other senior officers planted different species of trees in the park.

Commenting on the occasion, Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad said, “Celebrating this day is a symbolic way to invoke both interest and information about the importance of plants in our lives. Planting more and more trees is the best kind of insurance we can do for a healthy future of our posterity. Therefore it has to be a serious undertaking not only at individual and institutional level, but also at societal level.”

“As the state’s premier financial institution we understand our obligations towards the preservation of our environment. Development and maintenance of many parks across the state including Badamvaer is the substantial part of this social commitment”, he added.

Meanwhile similar plantation drives were held by the bank across different parts of the valley.
